my name is Pon. I live in Philadelphia, PA, but grew up in central New Jersey. I was born in Vientiane at home. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. I speak Lao and understand it, but it is broken and I sound harsh sometimes. I read a little bit of Lao.
I love food, especially Lao food of course. I started cooking since 7, but had to really teach myself how to make Laos/Asian food when I went to college. Everywhere I went, there was only pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs...etc. This food was ok sometimes, but not the time, plus I got really fat! I missed Lao food so much I drove home for 2 hours almost every weekend for some home cooking. Then I got better at making Lao food, and didn't have to go home all the time anymore.
I studied web design in school so I decided to create a site and share some experiences with food.

I don't know my real birthday, who else out there doesn't?
Hello everyone, this may seem strange, but I don't know my real birthday. I was born in Laos, I believe at home, so records aren't accurate. My birthday on my license says January 4th, but when I ask my parents, they tell me different things everytime! Also, my sister found papers from a looong time ago saying I was born July 4th. visiting Laos in 6/11/2010 , layover in Bangkok, is it safe?
Hello everyone, I'm visiting Laos 6/11/2010 for the first time and staying for 3 weeks. My stop goes to Bangkok, Thailand, but I heard it is really bad there right now. I know the government is fighting and there have been bombings and Bangkok. I know the U.S. embassy, Australian embassy and others have evacuated. Do you think the airport will be safe? My layover is about 24/hrs.
