Dharma Lesson One

AT PRESENT, ALL THAT IS LEFT OF BUDDHISM ARE THE WORDS OF LORD BUDDHA. ONLY HIS TEACHING--THE SCRIPTURES--REMAIN. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS. DUE TO THE CORRUPTION CAUSED BY THE DEFILING NATURE OF THE KILESAS, TRUE SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLES ARE NO LONGER PRACTICED IN PRESENT-DAY BUDDHISM. WE CONSTANTLY ALLOW OUR MINDS TO BE AGITATED AND CONFUSED, ENGULFED IN MENTAL DEFILEMENTS THAT ASSAIL US FROM EVERY DIRECTION. THIS IS A FAULT THAT WE AS BUDDHISTS MUST REMEDY WITHIN OURSELVES BY TRULY PUTTING INTO PRACTICE THE BUDDHA'S TEACHING:DHARMA.

BY VENERABLE ACARIYA MAHA BOOWA "A FOREST DHAMMA OF BAAN FOREST
MONASTERY."

EVERYONE ARE WELCOME TO JOIN KINGDOM OF NIBBANA. LORD BUDDHA SAID:

SANDITTHIKO, AKALIKO, EHI PASSIKO, OPANAYIKO, PACCATTAM VEDITABBO VINNUHITI:

TO BE SEEN HERE AND NOW, TIMELESS, INVITING ALL TO COME AND SEE, LEADING ONWARD, TO BE REALIZED BY THE WISE, EACH FOR THEMSELVES.

One day Ananda, who had been thinking deeply about things for a while, turned to Lord Buddha and exclaimed: "Lord, I've been thinking- spiritual friendship is at least half of the spiritual life!" Lord Buddha replied: "Say not so, Ananda, say not so. Spiritual friendship is the whole of the spiritual life!"

-- Samyutta Nikaya, Verse 2

Buddhavagga - The Buddha
Verses 183

NOT TO DO EVIL,
TO DO GOOD,
AND TO PURIFY THE MIND.
THIS IS THE TEACHING OF THE BUDDHA.

I am planing to build big buddha statue in Laos and I need as many help as I can..

here is what in my mind and I posted on Buddha blog as well..

My dreams is to build The Big Buddha statue before I die in my mom's
home town Song Khon, Lha Ha Nam, Savannakhet or some where in Laos
Buddhist Temple. I already planed everything out in my head. I'm in my
mid 20 and I am lacking of money and I don't know how to make a website
for people come in and donate money other then that I am saving my
money bit by bit and I am sure it will take me awhile, but that's fine
as long I don't give up on my dream, hope and faith. I am living in the
U.S. If you have any ideas or advice for me. Please help me out. I am
planing to go to Laos this summer to visit my families and ask the Monks
is it ok if I can build the Big Buddha Statue in their Temple ground.
If they say No, then I have to go ask some other Temple if they allow me
to Build the Big Buddha Statue in their Temple. But I cannot tell you now how big the Buddha Statue will be because it's depending on my money and how much I got help form donation money.

If you don't trust me or think I'm a scamer and you can keep this blog so you can file law suit me and put me in jail, but if you trust me and you can donate money to help me Build The Buddha Statue.

If you have any ideas or advice for me. Please help me out because I cannot do this on my own.
here is my e-mail leck_777@yahoo.com

Thanks

Reply to Video 3 (don quan posted).
Thank you for posting these 5 vdos. They have good information for the journey of being one self. On # 3 Third eye, for Vipassana meditation, I used to experience sensing that my body flew up from the floor (it happened over 10 years ago though), and when one see all those "Bright Colors, Animal, or Masters, my teacher told me to come back to the real world (present moment by) realizing your body, or be aware of one breathes. Many ppl. lost in those "scenes" and forget to back to reality then some meditators thought one is enlightened or addict to it. Those "Images" are the pass road or part of the process of meditation. In Laos, and even in USA I met some meditator became hallucination and scared of those "Animals Images" Some ppl. saw Tiger, bears, snakes and they stood up and run out of the meditation room. So, that's why when one see those image or Masters comes talk to that person, one should come back to one breath and body then those images will disappear.

LIFE'S 38 BLESSINGS
Comment by 1laochild on June 28, 2009 at 12:34pm
What is Nirvana meant to buddhist?

To buddhist, what I understand that Nirvana is "The Finalize of Enlightenment". What is "Enligtenment"?

In a lay person term to me, Enlightenment is the state of bliss, Love and accept oneself, self awareness in the present moment to moment, accept the Truth in life. Enlightenment is not about manifesting anything. It is simply about seeing who you really are here and now, what your actual nature is.
We are human beings, but in reality we are a Being merely playing at the human role.

Being is our Home, our Cosmic Self/God within us, and that is the true Enlightenment. With the knowing that there is knowledge within you, all seeking for better life in every things stops and we start looking at who we are here and now. With this KNOWING comes the activation of what we call Spontaneous Intelligence (Inner Knowing/intuition/wisdom) which really means knowing what is real and lasting. In your natural state of knowing you simply recognize what it is you have to do, and as all great men and women have done. You proceed to do it. It is very simple.

You have discovered the Buddha/God within yourself – that which the wise men (I am not wise! I am still in my journey too! just sharing here!) wanted to show you. On this planet man cannot achieve anything higher. You may have immeasurable treasures, you may have power over the entire world, but if you have not come to know your being, you have nothing you can take with yourself after death.

Some how, necessary things you need in your life will manifest by itself such as love, money, happy family, good friends, good job will come to you with your magnet enlightened mind power. It might not tremendously like the millionaire, but you will satisfy with what you received, not greedy, jealous, envy of other.

You will be a simple human being, you still will face the problem in life but you will handle suffering well, problem solver for yourself and support your love ones and other, successfully.

Here on Earth, one and only one task can bring you lasting results – to achieve immortality through your jump to a higher level of consciousness. This jump is the greatest gift that you can give yourself, and it is the only reason you were born. Everything else is transient; only this jump allows you to enter into eternity.

The only way to be enlightened to many spiritual people are to "Meditation". Buddha became enlightened from meditation. Even Jesus, in the old time he had to go to stay in the cave to talk to God/his father more than a months before he met with his follower what God give him message to tell his people. Finally, Jesus said that God ordered Ten commandment (I saw in Jesus movie).

Many people avoid and sarcastic about doing meditation, I think some people misunderstand the concept of meditation. They don't know that Meditation is about learning oneself or being aware of oneself body and mind. Meditate is to recognized about the nature of thought and not to let its runs our life. If the thought are good and benefit to oneself and other, then let it takes action.

Many Spiritual teacher/meditator who are insightfully get to be one with God or Nirvana, want you to succeed – in this life! Only the one who does not get distracted can be successful in one life. Traditions, religions and techniques are subject to the challenge of self-realization, because the one, who does not want to know oneself, can never know the Buddha, God or the Divine.

No one is obliged to follow a particular teacher in his quest, but everyone needs competent support on his or her path. Very rarely can someone succeed all alone because that requires the fulfillment of a number of prerequisites.

I try to translate this wisdom that one venerable told me. This is what he said in Lao. ປິສນາທັມ
"ໃບລານ ບັງພຣະທັມ ທອງຄຳ ບັງພຣະພຸທ ສົງຄ໌ ສົມມຸດ ບັງພຣະອະຣິຍະສົງຄ໌" I translate it below. If it does not make sense, feel free for clearification.

"Scriptures hide the Dharma, Buddha image hide the Buddha, Sanga (supposed-venerable/monk) hides the real Sanga".

sadhu!
